As part of the events organized by the Tourism Guiding Department, a discussion titled "Travel Agency Business in the Eastern Black Sea Region" was held. The speaker at the event, which brought together the sector and academia, was Murat Çavga, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TISAD (Turkish Travel Agencies Association).
The event began with an opening speech by Associate Professor Dr. İsmail Çalık, Head of the Tourism Guiding Department. In his speech, Dr. Çalık emphasized the importance of collaboration between the sector and the university, stating that such events offer significant benefits to students. Following the opening speeches, Murat Çavga, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TISAD (Turkish Travel Agencies Association), shared his knowledge and experience with the participants regarding the current state of travel agency services in the Eastern Black Sea Region, the problems encountered in the sector, and recent developments. He also stressed the importance of professional skills, field experience, and qualified human resources in the tourism sector, offering various suggestions to the students.
The discussion, which continued interactively with a question-and-answer session, allowed students to find direct answers to their questions about the sector. The event, which was very productive for the participants, contributed to increasing awareness of the tourism sector.
At the end of the program, Murat Çavga, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TISAD, was thanked for his valuable insights and contributions. As the Faculty of Tourism, we aim to continue these types of events that strengthen sector-university collaboration in the coming period.
